Every story needs a beginning, and the hero of every story needs their origin story. Rather than act like some sort of demigod, he upheld the law and, more importantly, never considered himself above the law. Here was an All-American hero people could cheer and support, secure in the knowledge they enjoyed an advantage over the rest of the world.
