Akari Hirai is your typical young woman just trying to make her way in the world. One morning she awakens and discovers that she now has superpowers. Like any good person would, she decides to try to make a difference in the world. However, her reckless behavior lands her into trouble and she's nearly killed. Knowing that she needs training she seeks out the man who saved her life, who just happens to be the strongest superhero in the world, Tantalum. Realizing that Akari will get herself killed if he doesn't help her, Tantalum begins to train her. Thus begins the chaotic and action-filled journey of the newest superheroine in the world, Saikō No Joō!
