It began with an anomaly in an academic text book that Leira Orta found: an errant star in the Celestial Constellation that wasn't supposed to be there, flickering in and out of existence every ten years, growing larger with each leap. Then her co-worker was killed to protect the information and she was blamed. Now the Blades of Oa are after her and that can mean only one thing: they want her dead, too. But why the secrecy? What's the importance of the star? And why are people dying?
Updated on the last Friday of the month!
Leira Orta managed to lose the Blades of Oa by setting an entire festival ablaze. Now she needs to get out of the city of Jaixia in Procoline Kingdom and head to the Kingdom of Shehroz. The best way is via the Hyperspeed rail system. An unlikely ally gives her a little tip to lead her on the way but the tattoo of that ally brings up haunting memories.
Meanwhile, Xolani Abraham and Micah Ido are still on her trail, but they've a plan to intercept Leira. They just need to set those plans into motion.
Above it all, in the Seat of Power, Director Xavier Nib meets with General Bourne Orta to discuss Leira's capture and the unfolding plans. Then Xavier meets with someone close to him, someone who needs him to keep tabs on the General.
But how did it all begin? Leira recalls the memories, her discovery of the star, and the man whose death she is blamed for and set all of this in motion: Saul Menfer.
