SOLARPUNK'D - #1 "The Cost of Green"

Roric is dispatched to the Veridian Collective, a massive city built into the canopy of a genetically engineered mega-sequoia. The Collective has discovered a 'Seed-Core,' a piece of pre-collapse technology capable of rapidly terraforming desolate areas. They are approached by the Ascendants, a sleek, powerful faction seeking to "license" the Seed-Core for their own expansion. The mediation is a trap. Kaden, the Ascendant leader, launches a violent coup to seize the Seed-Core. The issue is a relentless, action-packed sequence as Roric must fight his way through the Ascendant strike team, utilizing his specialized gear and the unique vertical environment of the canopy city, only to discover the terrifying efficiency of the Neo-Capitalist resurgence.
