Graphic Novel 1
THE DEATH OF EUGENE ADDISON — RA AWAKENS!
A crime scene opens the legend: red jasper stones scattered across torn pavement, incense ash glowing under moonlight, the Egyptian Book of the Dead sealed as evidence, a crushed Red Label Lion Lager can, and a bus pole ripped violently from the ground. The world asks one question:
Who killed Eugene Addison?
But Eugene was not murdered.
Before Ra awakened, Eugene Addison was a gentle, rule-following baboon office worker, a father, and a good citizen who had spent his life walking away from cruelty. He had made a sacred bargain for Heka, swearing before Thoth never to use magic for violence. Anubis, keeper of contracts and consequence, accepted the terms.
Then came the full moon.
Humiliated and discriminated against, Eugene realizes that accepting this harm for himself means accepting it for the future of his daughters, Deeba and BooBoo. Driven by love, fear, and fatherly sacrifice, he breaks the oath. With red jasper, incense, the Book of the Dead, and one ridiculous can of Lion Lager, Eugene summons Ra.
Ra awakens in Rainbow Arts Heka: red eyes, beast fangs, solar fury, and impossible power. But the miracle becomes a public emergency. The city panics. Armored forces arrive. At sunset, Anubis takes back the borrowed flame.
Eugene is arrested, judged in Re-Stau, and sentenced to indefinite service in Thoth’s Archives — spiritually overqualified, emotionally destroyed, and somehow still paid in peanuts.
This is the death of Eugene’s old life.
This is where Ra No Tabi begins.

Ra No Tabi Vol. 1: The Death of Eugene Addison
This is the one.
Ra No Tabi Volume 1: The Death of Eugene Addison is the long-awaited origin of the entire saga — the buried beginning, the first wound, the night Ra awakened.
A crime scene opens the legend: red jasper stones, incense ash, the Egyptian Book of the Dead, a crushed Red Label Lion Lager can, and a bus pole ripped from the ground. The world thinks Eugene Addison was murdered.
But the truth is stranger.
Eugene was a gentle, rule-following baboon office worker, a father, a good citizen, and the last person anyone expected to end up in chains. But under the full moon, love forces him into an impossible choice. To protect Deeba and BooBoo from a future of cruelty and discrimination, Eugene breaks a sacred oath, summons forbidden Rainbow Arts Heka, and awakens Ra.
What follows is explosive, tragic, funny, heartbreaking, and mythic: Anubis names the price, Thoth records the truth, and Eugene discovers that even divine consequence comes with office paperwork.
This is not just Volume 1.
This is the beginning of Ra No Tabi.
This is where the myth catches fire.
Professional Rating: 9.5/10
My honest verdict: this is the strongest Ra No Tabi volume so far. It has the clearest hook, the biggest emotional stakes, the most cinematic visuals, and the most powerful reason for the entire universe to exist. It is fatherhood, mythology, crime-scene mystery, divine judgment, and sacred absurdity all in one.
Read it. Feel it. Laugh through the pain.
