PEP Comic #213

Pep Comic Issue 213 includes the story “Betty and Veronica in Tops in Pops”. Veronica brags to Betty that every other girl who's tried to steal Archie away has failed — but confesses she's finally met her true rival, and it isn't another girl at all. The two race over to find Archie totally absorbed in band rehearsal, apologizing that he hasn't had time for either of them because The Archies are cutting their first record, if only they can find a girl vocalist first. With both girls overhearing at once, will Betty and Veronica turn this into their fiercest competition yet? Other stories in this issue include “Professor Flutesnoot in The Chemists”, “Li'l Jinx in Take A Message!”, “Archie in Wreck Room Blues”, and more. Originally running from 1940 all the way into the '80s, PEP was the platform for Archie's first appearance in 1941 and introduced many of the Riverdale citizens that the world still follows over 80 years later.
