PEP Comic #212

Pep Comic Issue 212 includes the story “Archie in Wheel-A-Churning”. Archie sneaks off in his beloved but battered old jalopy to surprise Veronica—its telltale bangs, chugs, and rattles announcing his arrival before she even looks outside. Mr. Lodge, mortified by the "motorized monstrosity" parked in his driveway, begs Veronica to at least get rid of Archie's car if she won't get rid of Archie. With Mr. Lodge at his wit's end and the jalopy wheezing right up to the front door, how much longer can that car survive? Other stories in this issue include “Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica in Verve to Serve”, “Li'l Jinx in Stick Trick”, “Archie in In a Nutshell”, and more. Originally running from 1940 all the way into the '80s, PEP was the platform for Archie's first appearance in 1941 and introduced many of the Riverdale citizens that the world still follows over 80 years later.
