Pep Comic Issue 167 includes the story “Archie in The Man in the Middle”. Archie secretly takes Veronica to the movies, dodging a possessive Jughead who jealously objects to their every outing together — leading to a frantic chase through the neighborhood to shake him off. The two finally make it into the Bijou theater, breathlessly believing they've given Jughead the slip for good. Will their great escape turn out to be no escape at all? Other stories in this issue include “Archie in Can Can“, “Li'l Jinx in Scents-ible”, “Archie in Tale of Woe”, and more. Originally running from 1940 all the way into the '80s, PEP was the platform for Archie's first appearance in 1941 and introduced many of the Riverdale citizens that the world still follows over 80 years later.
