Pep Comic Issue 140 includes the story “Archie in Actions Speak Louder Than Words”. The Saturday night Riverdale C.C. dance is tonight—and it costs $5 to get in. Archie and Reggie are flat broke, so the big question is: how are they going to come up with the cash in time to make the dance? Originally running from 1940 all the way into the '80s, PEP was the platform for Archie's first appearance in 1941 and introduced many of the Riverdale citizens that the world still follows over 80 years later.
