PEARL Episode No. 2

Elena’s young Filipino servant tragically drowns performing a task for her. Distraught, she runs away but suffers an accident in the jungle and is rescued by Alan, an American plantation owner, and his wife. She hatches a plot to make an American businessman fall in love with her and whisk her away, but the brutal Japanese invasion of the Philippines in 1942 has them trying to figure out how they can survive the cruel and bloody foreign occupation of their land.
