For ten years, John has waited beside the Wall — a mysterious anomaly blamed for a disaster that nearly wiped out humanity when it last opened. Once considered the foremost expert on the phenomenon, he has spent a decade studying it from a distance, unwilling to leave but never brave enough to cross beyond it. Then, one day someone arrives, setting a cascade of events into motion, mysteriously opening the wall. John finds himself among bodies of coworkers and soldiers, the wall beckoning him to enter.
