Chapter 1: Last Night of the Year" It's the last night of the year 2005. Taimen Colegate sits with his best friend, Braunschweig Folley. They're attending an event for the year at the Saint Judas Church of the Liberated. They discuss the whereabouts of his father, Reagen Colegate. Natalia Foreman joins them after leaving her grandmother to complete their trio, the Rats. Mr. Colegate is out at Count Dollohiem's High Rise with "no mask on." He was on a personal hit for unknown reasons at the time. He kills the Count and returns to the church. Captain Jarrell West gets an order to investigate from his friend/boss, Julius Bank. Reda Noelle, a former sex crimes detective on a lunch break, argues with the disfigured Adam Forester. Before being interrupted by the captain and sent out on the case. The chapter ends with Reagan arriving at the church at 12:00pm. Was he late?
