Stowaways

Upon reaching Palermo we found a "connection", someone who not only gave us stuff to sell on credit, but also told us how to travel to Naples as stowaways using what seemed to be a well oiled underground economic model, a fraud which today would be frowned upon, but back then it was not only a way to get back at an exploitative system, but it had a long tradition of popular resistence in a land where tyrants took Italy from one another often leaving the population to rely on their own survival skills.
