Max is a divorced teacher and father of two; Lu Feng is a gay demi-aro engineer, who just moved to a new country. They live in a world where soulmates are real and can be recognised by a mark. But both men chose to cover theirs, for different reasons. Now, at 50, they have to decide if they can make space in their life for each other, so that their blooming friendship can lead to something else.
I love this series a lot so far! Usually, I'm not big on the Soulmate stuff, but the concept of older people experiencing the ups and downs of it so late and the way history changed and the phenomenon is tied into this world's politics is really enticing.
It is also really rare to see queer stories about old people finding new love when they had already lived through a lot of experiences. Even if it is a little sad sometimes.
Yet! The story is really sweet and feels cozy to read.
I'm looking forward to any update and thank you for this beautiful comic so far!
@WhisperingSkull: thank you for reading and leaving all those lovely comments! I’m also no fan of the soulmate trope 🤣 that’s why I decided to explore how it would impact society (both in positive and negative ways).
I think that youth is a great time to explore the world and get an understanding of who we are and what we like, but it is only later in life that we have all the tools to be really able to live fully. But there’s so much pressure nowadays to accomplish everything as soon as possibile, many feel like life ends at 30. So I wanted to show how you can still have so much more to learn and give at 40, 50 and even later.
