At the age of 17, Mark begins to display superpowers, which come from his father being a member of the Viltrumite race, who, according to Nolan, pioneer the galaxy on a mission of benevolence and enlightenment.

Truly great storytelling. I love invincible so much and reading this run was an incredible journey. I always like to think of Image as the superhero stories I love with less restrictions, wether it’s violence or corporate stuff. This series is undoubtedly one of my my favorite things to come out of fiction. I can’t properly express my love for Image comics and Invincible. What a great book

I suppose we won't know for sure unless those books are written [maybe Brit's books will answer this]. But based on the info we have here there's no reason to believe they won't continue to be handed down, even if to a somewhat lesser degree.
