In the center of an inexplicably stark white space sits a girl. Her name is Heidi. Her bob is immaculately styled, her crisp white shirt buttoned to the top, finished with a neat navy tie. She possesses flawless features, yet her large, clear eyes hold absolutely no emotion, will, or purpose. To top off this picture of perfection, her feet are clad in the most mundane footwear imaginable: classic three-stripe slide sandals. Heidi is a modern-day Golem, completely devoid of common sense—a perfect, blank canvas awaiting her life's very first brushstroke. Into her silent, achromatic world steps the most bizarre teacher in the universe: a fluffy white Bichon Frise, fully geared up in a retro-silver spacesuit and a transparent glass dome helmet. Looking as though it just crash-landed from a critical intergalactic mission, this peculiar space-dog takes on the heavy burden of awakening the girl, who simply stares back with vacant eyes. The space-dog faces the empty-eyed Heidi to deliver her very first lesson. Complex human emotions or philosophies are a luxury at this stage. The first input required for this blank-slate creature is the most fundamental way of acknowledging the world. With a solemn expression, the dog slowly closes its eyes behind the helmet, raises a short, adorable paw, and demonstrates a flawlessly stiff, textbook-perfect military salute.
