Ritsuka, a Master from Chaldea, suddenly loses consciousness and finds herself whisked away to Shimousa Province in Edo-era Japan. But it soon becomes clear she’s not in her own timeline…and neither is her companion, a woman called Miyamoto Musashi. Together, they must defeat the Seven Heroic Spirit Swordmasters, a group of fearsome cursed warriors who will stop at nothing until every living thing on the planet is dead.

Having defeated the first of the Heroic Spirit Swordmasters, Ritsuka and Musashi set out for Toke Castle in search of the truth behind the irregularities in Shimousa Prefecture. To their surprise, many familiar faces await them in the castle town. Perhaps these chance encounters will help them get to the bottom of things…or perhaps they’re a portent of further chaos on the horizon. Then, not a moment after they recruit a new ally on their quest, they encounter the second of the fearsome Swordmasters, a fearsome lady samurai who commands powerful flames!

The mind of Ritsuka Fujimaru, a Master from Chaldea, has been whisked away to Edo-period Japan. But she soon realizes that things don't quite match up with Edo-period history from her timeline, and after she reunites with Lady Miyamoto Musashi, she finds herself embroiled in a fierce battle against the Heroic Spirit Swordmasters, seven cursed undead warriors who leave annihilation in their wake. Musashi and Ritsuka defeat the second of the Swordmasters in battle, but they scarcely have a moment's time to reflect on their victory before the third Swordmaster makes her presence known. She is a shinobi whose target is Kiyohime, the princess of Toke Castle in Shimousa Province. She conjures great serpents and strikes under cover of night...but Ritsuka has a ninja of her own on her side: Kotarou, who's mounted a full recovery after Rayshifting from Chaldea to join his Master.

With the Castle Toke crumbling all around them, Ritsuka and Musashi's battles against the seven deadly Heroic Spirit Swordmasters continue. Their third opponent is Assassin of Paraiso, a shinobi cursed by divine power that threatens to consume her very flesh. Can they emerge victorious? And even if they do, what of the demons who lurk in the shadows as rivers run red and bodies pile to the sky?

After defeating the third Heroic Spirit Swordmaster, Ritsuka and Musashi retreat to Muramasa’s smithy for a well-deserved rest. But their safe haven is sieged by two fearsome Swordmasters and they are rocked by the thunderous force of Kalasutra Hell and the mesmerizing allure of Samghata Hell. The Master of Chaldea and the wandering samurai battle to protect innocent lives…but they know too well that the brutality of these oni knows no bounds!
