Citadel Volume 1 contains the first 4 chapters of the story. Miles is a daydreaming farm boy living on the far edges of the Kingdom of Arcadia. Amy is an exiled refugee from war-defeated Daikoga, a country across the sea far to the east. They unexpectedly meet and unlock strange powers within one another as children, then are brought together by fate a second time 10 years later. They soon depart on an adventure across the Kingdom with the aid of the mysterious Lore Master Lady Crystal and her bodyguard Nicky, to unlock the secrets of their powers and the past, all while being pursued by three warriors from the East who have a target on Amy's back.
