The storm changed the world. Now the world begins to remember what came before it. Entire districts have fallen silent, strange creatures roam the flooded streets, and thousands have disappeared without explanation. With Kai imprisoned deep within the Storm Citadel, he begins experiencing terrifying visions of an ancient war that existed long before humanity. Voices speak his name, forgotten memories surface, and mysterious powers begin awakening inside him. Meanwhile, Nyx survives her battle with Queen Nora and awakens inside the ruins of an abandoned church, where she encounters a mysterious man named Gabriel—a survivor who knows the true history of the BlackRain and the war between Heaven and the Fallen. Far beneath the city, Dr. Adrian Voss continues his horrific experiments using knowledge supposedly passed down from fallen angels. As he attempts to unlock the secret behind the BlackRain, Queen Nora begins questioning the true motives of the Storm King and the forces she serves. As ancient prophecies emerge and the boundaries between faith, science, and myth begin to collapse, Kai and Nyx discover that humanity was never the true target of the BlackRain. It was only the battlefield. Issue #3 shifts the series away from pure survival and into the hidden mythology behind the storm, introducing fallen angels, ancient wars, forgotten churches, and the first clues that the conflict between God and the Fallen has already begun.
