Many come to the jagged and strange mountain range known as Black Spine for one of two reasons; to hide away from something or to seek out something. Two women find themselves at one end of the spectrum; Lucille tries to find a way to break her fiance's binding contract while Emilia seeks refuge from an unjust world. The two women soon start to bond over their circumstances.
