Fifty generations after Nyarlathotep disappeared, continuing waves of tribes took over a land they called Hyperborea. Two great cities of Boreas and Arimaspi rose to rule over their halves of Hyperborea. In the lands outside of the cities, mercenaries lead strangers through the lands for a fee. Belgar is a guide with a knack for getting out of tight spots. His lover, Tierni, is a village healer. Together, they discover turmoil among the Outer Gods may lead to the destruction of Hyperborea.
