Asterix is the main character in a village of holdout Gauls who were never vanquished by the occupying Roman army. One reason they’ve successfully held off the Roman forces: a secret potion the village’s druid Panoramix knows how to concoct that makes all the village’s citizens super-powerful! Well, at least for a short period of time.
First, Asterix and Obelix’s fishing trip goes wrong when they make “The Great Crossing” and wind up on the shores of North America. Second, Obelix gets the spotlight as his delivery service for stone menhir slabs gets a Roman update, becoming “Obelix and Co.” Then, third, watch your waffles, it’s “Asterix in Belgium,” writer and Asterix co-creator René Goscinny’s final story before his untimely death. Plus: a new Afterword by Alexander Simmons.
