The survivors have escaped the slaughter of the games, but their hard-won peace ends far too soon. After a three month respite in a changed world, they come face-to-face with the deranged god behind the deadly games. They are forced to compete yet again, only this time, the victorious are promised the power of the gods. But as soon as the games resume, they find themselves running for their lives—in a true-or-false quiz race where getting the wrong answer means certain death.
