DC collects the 1970s series that introduced one new concept after another-as well as reintroducing several DC favorites! Over the course of 13 issues, 1st Issue Special shined a spotlight on Atlas, Manhunter, Warlord, Lady Cop, and even the Dingbats of Danger Street-as well as giving the Creeper, Doctor Fate, and the New Gods their shots at comebacks! The lizard king Hyssa raids a small Mediterranean village, enslaving and killing dozens of people. One youth named Atlas survives the attack, but his family is not quite so lucky.
Issue 2

The Green Team consists of Commodore Murphy, a shipping tycoon; J.P. Houston, an oil magnate; and Cecil Sunbeam, a Hollywood producer. The team meets weekly to finance adventures and inventions.

Rex Mason and Sapphire Stagg take a vacation to Washington, D.C., where they visit the Lincoln Memorial. From behind the monument's pillars, a phantom steps out and begins zapping security guards with his electrified energy cane.

The Firefly, one of Batman's old enemies, breaks jail and begins using his light-weapons for criminal purposes, incurring the wrath of the Creeper.

Lt. Colonel Travis Morgan of the United States Air Force is attacked while on a reconnaissance mission over Russia. Fleeing toward the arctic circle, he is forced to abandon his dying aircraft over the Yukon and parachutes through a swirling mist into the strange and unrecognizable land of Skartaris.

Sensing a great evil afoot, Doctor Fate flies to the Boston Museum of Egyptology. There, the curator, Anderson, and a trustee named Dr. Magill open their new exhibit: the tomb of Khalis, who springs to life and begins wreaking havoc.

"We're the Outsiders." DC's original, highly obscure Outsiders team (who go on a rescue mission in this issue) were a gang of super-deformed heroes named Lizard Johnny, Amazing Ronnie, Hairy Larry, Mighty Mary, Doc Scary, and Billy.

Jonathan "Assassin" Drew, a telekinetic, dons a costume and seeks revenge after his sister is killed by gangsters.

"Starman." Pursued by Turran Kha, amiable alien Mikaal Tomas flees to Earth and warns of an impending invasion. The origin and first appearance of the new Starman!

"Lest Night Fall Forever!" This last issue in the series features the return of the New Gods as parademons attack New Genesis.
