Journey to Elysium

In 1791 a mysterious object appeared in the heavens. Bigger than most cities, the Elysium object drifts in the orbit of the moon. From whence it came, nobody knows. But many believe it had always been up there, waiting for the right time to reemerge from the void. Others believe it’s nothing but a mirage. But even illusions serve a purpose.   Ghulam Ali was one of the rare visionaries who attempted to reach the object by a rocket in the 1820s. But both missions ended with fatal results. After repeated failures, Ghulam Ali became a recluse on an ocean platform.
