To be fair, "being a bit right-wing" in the US today often means aligning with politicians who are "extremely right-wing," and the far right HAS been creating concentration camps and sending militant agents who hide their identities to round up/attack immigrants and peaceful protesters, so being concerned about the right wing seems warranted.
