About

My name is Birdy, and I'm a digital artist based in Las Vegas, Nevada. I work primarily using the art program Procreate, and I enjoy creating a visual style that evokes classic paintings, old photographs, and old advertisements from as far back as the early 1900s, to as recently as the 1980s and 90s. I also have a particular interest in clothing design and historical fashion, as it pertains to

Lady Mary

Pater Noster

Mary is reciting the Lord’s Prayer in Latin here. At this time, it was unusual for young girls, even of noble birth, to learn Latin, but Mary’s mother Catherine insisted on it and even personally oversaw many of Mary’s lessons when she was a child. Much of Mary’s childhood was spent learning skills that would make for a successful Queen and attractive to a future suitor, such as dance and music.

HEY ALL! I been a little quiet here but I got a surprise for you! My new webcomic, Lady Mary, is now live on here and on Webtoon canvas! It will follow the life of Queen Mary I of England! It's been a bit of a passion project of mine for the past few months, and I'm so excited for you all to experience it!

Mary Tudor is a figure I've been pretty fascinated with for a while, and it saddens me that she doesn't seem to get much of a fair rap in popular culture when compared to those preceding and following her. As the first true queen regnant of England, she set an example for many female rulers who followed her, but nowadays is most often remembered for the executions carried out under her rule (even though both of her siblings' times on the throne were marked with equally harsh religious laws). So, my hope for this comic his to shed a new light on her- Not to glorify or villainize, but more humanize, I suppose. I hope you all enjoy!

Thank you guys for your patience! I’ve been looking to start a new project for a while now, I just wasn’t sure what exactly to do. But Lady Mary has been an interest of mine, and seems as good a place as any to start! I hope you’re all excited for some more historical content!
