Salmigondis

Au 21ème siècle, Une crise climatique majeure, combinée à une montée des eaux sans précédent, mit à mal la civilisation humaine. Au milieu de ce tumulte, l’humanité dut faire face à un évènement totalement imprévu : Le Salmigondis, l’hybridation inter-espèces totale. En quelques années, les cartes du Vivant furent rebattues et l’espèce humaine, pour la première fois de son histoire, mise hors-jeu et au bord de l’extinction. Nous sommes en France, plus d’un siècle plus tard. Les quelques poches de vie humaine restantes s’organisent comme elles peuvent pour s’adapter et retrouver leur place en tant qu’espèce dominante dans un monde entièrement nouveau. Mais un tout nouvel hybride va tout faire chambouler… Bienvenue dans le monde de Salmingondis !

Hodgepodge

In the midst of climate change and sea levels rising to unprecedented heights, humanity had to face the Hodgepodge, full inter-species hybridization. This caused utter chaos and death on a global scale. Mankind was almost wiped out along with most species as we know them. Nature is resilient, if nothing else, and a new paradigm arose out of the death of the old world. New species emerged to fill the ecological vacuum and this rapid evolution restored some semblance of balance in the natural world. But humanity doesn’t care for change or evolution, beyond all else it wishes for stability in a world where the remains of its technology no longer ensures dominion. In France, in the 22nd century, we find pockets of humanity trying to survive and reclaim their place as the dominant species. But a brand new hybrid will throw them, and everyone else, the mother of all curveballs! Welcome to the world of Hodgepodge!
